Nils Fiechter was distributing political leaflets and biscuits at Zurich train station on Sunday when he was attacked by a cyclist. The cyclist came up to him at full speed on his bike and sprayed the elected official with an unknown white substance. The man behind the attack did not give his motives, but the elected official has no doubt that he is a left-wing activist. In a video posted on social media, the chairman of the Young SVP denounces an “anti-democratic” action. He and his party indicate in a post on X that it was an attempt at intimidation.

The elected official assured that he intended to file a complaint against unknown person. Some Internet users condemned this attack in the comments section: “I am not a fan of political parties, but this behavior is definitely not acceptable,” wrote one of them. Others suspect that this attack is a set-up to restore the image of Nils Fiechter, who caused controversy during a recent interview on Russia Today (RT), a Russian television news channel in continuous. As a reminder, the elected official had strongly criticized the Bürgenstock conference and the Federal Council. Many Internet users then accused him of treason.
