EIn response to a question from Nabila Mounib, MP representing the Unified Socialist Party (PSU), on the strategies of the Ministry of Culture within the framework of interministerial coordination to resolve “the crisis faced by 1.4 million young people in NEET situations who deserve a real chance and a program to save them”, Bensaid declared that this issue required the joint efforts of several ministries.
“One of the solutions we have proposed is the use of youth centres to offer training services, particularly with regard to digitalisation.”, he explained. “These training courses exist, several ministerial sectors offer them. Today, we need training courses that directly meet the needs of the labor market in each territory.”
Indeed, training exists, but is generally in a few specific areas which do not meet the needs of young people and entrepreneurs in the different regions of Morocco.
“What is expected of young people is not only to be trained and to access the job market. Some want to undertake and start their own projects, or expect opportunities in cultural production.”, added Bensaid.
Questioned, again by Mounib, on the move of the International Publishing and Book Fair (SIEL) to Rabat, stressing that Casablanca needs it as much, Bensaid replied that the fair required “major investments” and that the choice of the city which hosted it was made according to the financing that the region could offer.
