Already traumatized by armed attacks and the first murder of a woman whose perpetrator is still untraceable despite the searches undertaken by the gendarmes established in the city, the town of Kafountine (on the southern coast of Senegal) has recorded another tragedy. The victim named Awa Cissé, three months pregnant, was cowardly killed in front of her two children. Her lifeless body was found on her marital bed.

“This is another murder of a woman, the second that we have recorded in some time. The victim is the lady Awa Cissé. Married, she is the mother of two children. Her husband is established in Gambia where he carries out his professional activities. The latter left Kafountine last Friday after celebrating Tabaski with his wife and two children,” sources from the newspaper Libration confided.

Who added that the victim, married and mother of two children, was three months pregnant and lived in the Nafacounda district. Her lifeless body was found in her room at night, on her marital bed next to her two children. According to the newspaper, her executioner beat her several times with bladed weapons before finishing her off and disappearing into the wild. Leaving the body lying in a pool of blood.

Alerted, the firefighters went to the scene. The victim’s lifeless body was deposited in the morgue of the Ziguinchor Peace Hospital. The gendarmerie has opened an investigation to elucidate this tragedy which is making headlines in Kafountine.

As a reminder, during the month of March, a septuagenarian woman named Dieynaba Sambou and her granddaughter, Diouma Diatta, were also victims of a brutal attack perpetrated by an individual armed with an axe. The events took place around 2 a.m.
