The Salé regional security police services, acting on the basis of precise information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), proceeded, on Saturday, November 23, to the arrest of two individuals aged 31 and 45 years old. They are a woman and a man known for their criminal records, suspected of being involved in the possession and distribution of narcotics and psychotropic substances.
The first suspect was apprehended at the Rabat bus station, upon her arrival on board a bus from a town in the north of the country. A search led to the seizure of 3,196 psychotropic tablets in his possession, including “Rivotril” type drugs and ecstasy pills.
Continuing investigations, the authorities arrested the second suspect in the Oulad Moussa district of Salé. The latter is suspected of being the recipient and distributor of this shipment of illicit substances.
The two suspects were placed in police custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. The investigation aims to determine the potential ramifications of this criminal activity and to identify additional accomplices involved in this wrongdoing.
