Where is the market for the new Casablanca landfill? Contacted by Le Site info, Moulay Ahmed Afilal, the deputy mayor, assured that the municipality of Casablanca is in the process of choosing the company which will be responsible for the construction of the new landfill, after the opening of the bids relating to the call for tenders launched last September. And to remember that the land problem is completely resolved.
Note that a budget of 250 million dirhams was allocated to the construction of the landfill and waste recovery center in Casablanca. With an area of 260 hectares, the land is located in the commune of Al Majjatia Oulad Taleb, province of Médiouna. “The landfill center will be ready in a year and a half since other major projects await Casablanca,” assured Afilal.
Let us recall that a commission of the Ministry of the Interior had previously expressed its disagreement with this proposal to acquire real estate in Al Majjatia Oulad Taleb because it does not correspond to the visions and urban specificities of this zone, set by the development plan of this rural commune, adopted by the Council of Casablanca in 2019.
