Nintendo always keeps its promises: Metroid Prime 4 will definitely arrive on Nintendo Switch. This summer, the Kyoto firm finally lifted the veil on the long-awaited sequel. In addition to some gameplay footage, fans were surprised to discover that a release date had finally been established. After eight long years of chaotic development, the new adventures of the bounty hunter will make their debut in 2025, without further details. Fans finally see the end of the tunnel, but some fears persist. It must be said that Metroid Prime 4 already made great promises before its collapse.
In the absence of news, we had to take Nintendo's word for it… Until today. With the end of the year approaching, the manufacturer is starting to prepare the ground for what promises to be a crucial period. Everything suggests that the Kyoto company is preparing to market the console which will succeed the Switch in the coming months. Following the announcement of backward compatibility, players are impatient at the idea of discovering a more powerful machine, capable of enhancing their favorite titles.
And what better than a title like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond to end the current generation in style? On Reddit, a user noticed that the franchise's official website has just been updated. Five months after the Nintendo Direct last June, the manufacturer reaffirms its position. The game will be released next year, that's for sure (despite the translation errors on the French version of the site). Now, do we have to wait for the announcement of the next Switch to find out a more precise release date?
A cross-gen game?
For now, Metroid Prime 4 is presented as a Nintendo Switch title. But the implication of this game in the transition to the new generation seems obvious. The Adventures of Samus will certainly be one of the first games to benefit from improved performance on the new console. By applying such a strategy, Nintendo will not abandon players who have been waiting for the Switch release for eight years now, while offering a boost to the latest addition.
After such a wait, many fans will want to enjoy Metroid Prime 4 in the best possible conditions, and who will therefore fall for the new console. Nintendo having already tested this approach with the simultaneous release of Metroid : Dread and the Switch OLED, everything suggests that the formula will be the same next year. Let us remember, however, that these are only speculations pending real announcements from the manufacturer. Will the console be revealed before the end of the year? Nothing is less certain…
