FIFM. Monica Bellucci will present her film on Maria Callas

Bellucci Monica incarnating Maria Callas _Marcel Hartmann.

Yannis Dimolitsas’ film is a precious immersion into the life and legacy of Maria Callas, played by Monica Bellucci as an absolute opera diva. Through intimate memoirs, moving letters and never-before-seen images, he transports us into the world of Callas, from his humble beginnings in New York to his triumph on world stages. Two distinct eras intersect here: the one when Callas reached the peak of his career and the one today, where his voice continues to captivate.

At the heart of this work, an essential dialogue between two women – Callas and Bellucci – who, despite different paths, come together in their devotion to art. This encounter between past and present reveals the human soul behind the legend and celebrates an artist who transformed her pain into timeless beauty.

The screening of the film is scheduled at the Auditorium of the Yves Saint Laurent Museum on Sunday, December 1 at 5 p.m. in the presence of director Yannis Dimolitsas. It will be followed by a conversation with Monica Bellucci about the film.
