The Meknes police services, acting on the basis of precise information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), proceeded, on Tuesday, November 19, to the arrest of an individual suspected of possession and trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.
The arrest took place at the city’s railway station, immediately after the man, whose identity has not been revealed, arrived aboard a train from a town in the north of kingdom. A search led to the discovery in his possession of 1,689 narcotic tablets, including 1,074 ecstasy tablets and 615 psychotropic medical tablets such as Rivotril.
The suspect was placed in police custody as part of a judicial investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. This procedure aims to elucidate the circumstances and details surrounding this matter as well as to identify possible ramifications of this criminal activity.
