The National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) officially opened, last Friday, the application files relating to the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) plan for the construction of the very high voltage electrical line of 3 GW which will connect Dakhla to Casablanca. This electric highway project, considered a strategic axis for the energy development of the Kingdom, is attracting the interest of the main global players in the sector.
According to an ONEE press release, five large companies specializing in the construction of direct current electrical lines and substations have submitted their applications. Among them are global leaders such as GE Vernova (United States), Siemens Energy (Germany), Power China Sepco1 (China), TBEA (China) and Larsen & Toubro (India).

The selected EPC builder will be responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of this infrastructure as part of a turnkey contract. In addition to these responsibilities, the contract will include a long-term maintenance component (LTSA), guaranteeing the proper functioning of the line over time.
