The former buildings of the Heylen furniture store were vacated on Sunday around 2 p.m. in Peer, Limburg. An illegal rave party, because without authorization, started there on Friday.

In total, eight arrests were made, including two concerning suspected organizers, and 87 fines were issued, including 77 for driving under the influence and possession of a weapon.

Fifteen vehicles carrying rave party equipment, such as generators and music facilities, were also seized.

The rave party had been going on since Friday evening. The local Campinois police, once notified, closed the access routes to the buildings, while 1,000 to 1,200 people were already attending the event. Two festival-goers had to be taken to hospital on Saturday.

The police were able to make a few arrests on Saturday evening and were then quickly able to calmly end the event.

According to the mayor of Peer Steven Mathei, the organizers wanted to attract between 10,000 and 15,000 visitors, while the rave party was to last until Monday.
