As in 2023, Princess Delphine was not invited to the King’s Day this Friday, November 15. A situation that she denounces once again via social networks.
During King’s Day this Friday, November 15, the absence of Princess Delphine was once again noticed, just like the previous year. This was, once again, not invited by the Royal Palace. “The press reminded me again yesterday why I was not invited to celebrate Kings Day. The reason is that I don’t take endowment like my brothers and sisters“, she declares on her Instagram page. With this message, a photo of her as a child. “The thing is, I’m not welcome because, essentially, at the time I was born, my parents weren’t married to each other. I am writing this again and continuing to speak because children do not choose the circumstances they are born into“, she continues.
I keep hope
A situation that she experiences as an injustice. “Our society and laws should reflect values that welcome children equally, whether they are born in marriage, in a third marriage, in a fourth marriage, outside of marriage, adopted or otherwise. I remain hopeful that one day our leaders in government, society, and the Church will take these truths to heart“, she concludes.
A situation already denounced last year
This situation echoes similar facts in 2023. After being excluded from last year’s royal celebrations, Delphine wrote a letter to Alexander De Croo, Belgian Prime Minister, denouncing the unequal treatment towards her. This letter was leaked, triggering a controversy.
Delphine’s non-invitation this year is in line with the rule in force: only members of the royal family receiving an endowment are invited to the official celebrations. However, for Princess Delphine, born out of wedlock, this does not justify her being excluded from the royal family. She believes that she should be recognized as a full member of it, despite the circumstances of her birth.
