A man was shot dead this Sunday by police officers in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (Val-de-) after threatening officers. The individual allegedly pointed a weapon in the direction of the police.

A man carrying a “weapon” and who “threatened” police officers was killed this Sunday morning in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (Val-de-Marne).

According to a police source at CNEWS, the police were called around 6 a.m. for an armed man who was “drumming” on the door of a home, due to a neighborhood conflict.

Aged 30, the man was known to the police, particularly for advocating terrorism.

“Allah akbar” towards the police

The man threatened the police “by pointing a handgun and shouting “Allah akbar”” in the direction of the police.

One of the officers then “used his weapon” and hit the individual. Wounded in the stomach, the man died despite the intervention of emergency services.

An investigation was opened against the police officer for intentional violence leading to death without intention of causing it.
