Israeli aircraft carried out, on Sunday morning, no less than 27 raids on the southern suburbs of the capital, Beirut, and various areas of central and southern Lebanon, resulting in the destruction of numerous houses.
The Lebanese news agency reported that “Israeli planes launched a raid on the surroundings of the Church of Our Lady of Deliverance, opposite the Saint-Georges hospital, in the al-Hadath area”, in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Israeli planes also attacked a 12-story residential building near the “Mar Mikhael” church, in the Chiyah area, in the southern suburbs of Beirut, and completely destroyed it, according to the agency.
The Israeli air force also launched a violent raid on the Burj al-Barajneh neighborhood, in the southern suburbs of Beirut, according to the agency, without providing clarification on the impact of this raid.
These raids were carried out just after evacuation alerts were issued by the Israeli army to residents of these regions.
The Israeli army’s spokesperson for Arab media, Avichai Adraee, addressed, in a statement on the “X” platform, “to all residents of the southern suburbs, particularly in the buildings specified on the attached maps and adjacent buildings in the areas of Beirut Hadath, Burj Al-Barajneh and Chiyah.
He claimed that these buildings “are located near Hezbollah facilities and interests, against which the Israeli army will carry out imminent attacks.”
“For your safety and that of your loved ones, you must immediately evacuate these buildings as well as neighboring buildings and move away within a perimeter of at least 500 meters,” he continued.
The Israeli Air Force also carried out 7 raids in less than two hours, targeting houses in the Al-Ruwais neighborhood, on the Al-Jabbana road and in the Al-Karam Al-Gharbi neighborhood, in the town of Jabshit, in the southern Nabatieh district, which caused their complete destruction, according to the agency.
At dawn on Sunday, Israeli aircraft launched 4 raids targeting the Hamila area, on the outskirts of the town of Deir Al-Zahrani in Nabatieh.
The town of Hanin in the Bint Jbeil district of Nabatieh was the scene of 3 Israeli raids, and the town of Aba in the Nabatieh district was targeted by two raids which led to the destruction of a house.
In Marjayoun, Nabatieh, Israeli drones attacked the town of Jdeideh at dawn, targeting a house near St. George’s Church, causing a fire in the house and causing material damage to the church and nearby buildings .
The agency reported that Israeli planes also attacked a house in the town of Tura and another house in the town of Maarakeh in the Tire district of the Southern governorate.
The outskirts of the towns of Naqoura and Zibqin in the Tire district were also targeted by direct bombardment by Israeli artillery, targeting open areas, valleys and forests adjacent to the towns, according to the agency.
The Israeli army also twice bombed houses in the town of Tair Harfa in the Tire district.
Following clashes with Lebanese factions, notably Hezbollah, launched the day after the outbreak of a genocidal war waged by the Israeli army against the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, causing more than 147 thousand Palestinian victims, between dead and wounded, Tel-Avisi expanded, on September 23, the scope of the genocide to include most of the Lebanese regions, including the capital Beirut, through air raids. It also launched a land incursion into the south of the country.
The Israeli aggression against Lebanon left 3,452 dead, 14,664 injured, including a large number of women and children, in addition to 1.4 million displaced people. Most of the victims and displaced people were registered after September 23, according to a compilation by the Anadolu Agency based on official public information.
