Public authorities were able to reopen the road linking Al-Kalaia to Biokri, in the province of Chtouka Ait Baha, after being faced with a state of complete paralysis following protests led by a number of African immigrants this Saturday morning.
According to informed sources, the incident caused serious chaos and riots, as around 400 migrants occupied the road, disrupting traffic in both directions.
In detail of the incident, clashes broke out between migrants and public forces this morning, after dozens of migrants gathered in the street to protest after one of them was stabbed by an unknown person as he headed toward the workers’ parking lot.
The protests caused significant property damage to vehicles traveling in the area and also caused traffic confusion.
On the other hand, the injured were transferred to the Hassan II regional hospital in Agadir in critical condition for treatment, while the situation remains tense with intense security deployment in the region to avoid a new escalation.
