Turkey and Qatar have taken another step forward by signing a declaration of intent aimed at facilitating trade between the two nations. The announcement was made by Turkish Commerce Minister Omer Bolat via a message on social media. This initiative is part of the official visit of the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to Türkiye.
According to Minister Bolat, this declaration of intent aims to strengthen and develop economic relations between Ankara and Doha. The signing of the document took place during a meeting between Omer Bolat and Qatar’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Sheikh Faisal Bin Thani Al Thani. Also present at this meeting, the Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacir, took part in the discussions.
The talks between the two ministers mainly focused on increasing the volume of trade, strengthening bilateral cooperation, as well as exploring new investment opportunities on a sectoral basis. They also developed joint strategies to eliminate trade barriers.
Furthermore, Omer Bolat highlighted the commitment of both parties to collaborate on projects concerning energy, construction and technology. “We are determined to work together to maximize the potential in these sectors,” he declared, reflecting the desire of the two countries to move forward hand in hand in these crucial areas.
