Unisanté, university center for general medicine and public health, communicated on October 23 a “policy brief» dedicated to the “EFAS” reform put to the vote in two weeks. Conclusion of his study: “it is difficult to claim that this modification of the LAMal will have major impacts on health costs and on the organization of care”. Conclusions that are “objectively questionable (…) at the end of an obviously truncated analysis”, believes MP and president of the PLR Vaud Florence Bettschart-Narbel. Tuesday at the Grand Council, she thus questioned the neutrality of Unisanté’s approach, emphasizing in her questioning the proximity of the authors of this note who “are both former close strategic collaborators of the former head of the Department of Health, today president of the Swiss Trade Union Union (editor’s note: which supports the referendum against EFAS)».
“Which provision of the service mandate given by the Canton to Unisanté, which justifies its financing, allows opinions to be issued on matters of federal voting? Does the Council of State consider that this publication was relevant and that the conditions for neutral and scientific work were perfectly met? she asks in particular.
The Vaudois Council of State, a majority of whom are unfavorable to the reformwill respond in the coming months.
