Felt all the way to Miami
The earthquake was felt as far away as Miami. Remember that Cuba was hit hard by the major hurricane Rafael, category 3, in recent days and that a serious power outage made life difficult for residents. Rafael made landfall near Playa Majana, Artemisa province, on Wednesday. The next morning, the entire country was plunged into darkness.
There was no tsunami warning at the time of writing.
On January 28, 2020, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake shook the Caribbean, between Cuba and Jamaica. Many roads were damaged.
