Royal Air Maroc, led by Abdelhamid Adou, faces heavy criticism for selling more tickets than planes have capacity, which is seen as a disregard for customers.

In this regard, Moroccan artist Sahar Al-Siddiqi appeared in a live video that caused a stir on social media, revealing a frustrating experience she had while traveling on a Royal Airlines flight.

Sahar said in the video that she bought a ticket to the city of Oujda a week ago and arrived at the airport in time to prepare for the trip. However, she was surprised to be barred from boarding the plane on the grounds that the plane was full, even though she was carrying a legal travel ticket.

Al-Siddiqi explained in the video that she hoped her message would reach authorities, explaining that many travelers suffer from the same problem.

Sahar attributed the reason for what happened to the airline’s policy which, according to her, sells tickets beyond the capacity of the planes. This creates confusion among travelers who, upon arriving at the airport, are surprised to find that there is no room for them on the plane.

The artist added that she was very disappointed with the company’s actions, especially since she had paid the full price of her ticket, and was therefore supposed to guarantee her the right to travel.

Sahar said: “Is it reasonable for airlines to sell tickets beyond their capacity and leave customers in a state of tension? » Sahar asked in the video, indicating that such practices must stop.

Sahar Al-Siddiqi called for the intervention of the competent authorities and a review of the policies followed by airlines in Morocco, particularly those related to ticket sales.

She called for the need to ensure greater consumer protection and clarify travel conditions in a transparent manner, so that citizens are not exposed to frustrating situations that affect their travel experience.
