On October 27, a tragedy unfolded in a building in Villefontaine. An eight-year-old child was seriously injured after falling from the fourth floor of the family's apartment. Emergency transported to the Women's, Mother's and Children's hospital in (Rhône), he fought against his injuries for several days. This Saturday, the Dauphiné Libéré reports that the young boy died. He specifies that the child had been brain dead for 48 hours.

The first elements collected by the authorities led to the arrest of the victim's older brother, aged 26. Suspected of having pushed the child into the void, the young man put up strong resistance during his arrest, biting a gendarme before being overpowered. Transferred to psychiatry, he is currently placed in an isolation room.

The investigation, led by the Bourgoin-Jallieu research brigade, was opened under the classification of attempted homicide of a minor under 15 years old. After the death of the child, the procedure should be reclassified as homicide of a minor under 15 years old.
