This Thursday, Amadou Ba, head of the Jam Ak Jariñ coalition list and former Prime Minister under Macky Sall, went to Tivaouane, in the Thiès region, 70 kilometers from Dakar, as part of his electoral campaign. During his speech, he spoke about the wave of political transhumance of several former ministers and directors general towards the Pastef party.
According to Amadou Ba, although democracy allows transhumance, it is unusual for such defections to occur so quickly after a change of regime. “For transhumants, democracy allows it, but those who did it waited until the end of the regime,” he declared.
He stressed that in just seven months, former critics of the current regime are already moving massively towards Pastef, accepted only, according to him, for strategic reasons in order to obtain the parliamentary majority.
Amadou Ba also affirmed that this wave of rallies reveals a weakness on the part of Pastef, whom he accuses of being “incompetent” and “incapable.” » Convinced of being able to rectify this trend, he encouraged his supporters to mobilize for the November 17 vote, which he sees as an opportunity to redress the political situation in the country.
