Duel comparison: Samsung Galaxy A55 vs Google Pixel 8a

As we mentioned above, the distinction occurs very naturally between the two smartphones because of their format. It must be said that compared to the 6.6 inches of the Galaxy A55, the Pixel 8a “makes do” with a 6.1 inch panel, almost compact considering the most common dimensions today.

Both smartphones feature a Full HD+ panel based on Oled technology and with a variable refresh rate, up to 120 Hz (without LTPO). Larger format requires, the Galaxy A55 displays a slightly lower resolution than its competitor, i.e. 390 ppi compared to 430 ppi.

In terms of calibration, both smartphones are successful. If you have to opt for a suitable (natural) mode to get the best out of it, both have a low delta E (1.4 for the Galaxy A55, 1.2 for the Pixel 8a) and a color temperature close to 6500 K reference (6516 K for the Galaxy A55, 6795 K for the Pixel 8a). On the other hand, Google’s smartphone soars on the question of maximum brightness, since we noted up to 1507 cd/m² under our probes, far ahead of the 1064 cd/m² of the Samsung terminal, which however did not have not to be ashamed of his performance. But thanks to this value, and to the extent that it is slightly less subject to reflections than its competitor, the Mountain View mobile wins this point by a narrow margin.
