The Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME) welcomed the speech addressed, Wednesday, to the Nation by King Mohammed VI, on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Green March, expressing his full readiness to contribute to the implementation of the high royal guidelines contained therein.

In a press release, the CCME indicated that it had followed with great interest the royal speech, in which the Sovereign affirmed that the phase that the cause of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom is going through requires the permanent mobilization of all, highly welcoming that the King praised the patriotism of Moroccans living abroad, as well as their commitment to defending the sacred symbols of the Nation and contributing to the development of their country.

The Council praised, in this sense, the royal decision to carry out a new transformation in the way of managing the affairs of the Moroccan community abroad, in order to strengthen the link between this segment of the population and the motherland. , through the restructuring of the institutions concerned, so as to prevent the overlapping of their respective responsibilities and the dispersal of stakeholders and in order to ensure their adaptation to the new needs of this community.

In this context, the CCME expressed its high regard for the direction of the King “to the government to proceed with the restructuring of this institutional framework around two key entities (…), the first is the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad which, as an autonomous constitutional institution, which must assume fully its role as a framework for reflection and a force for proposals and reflect the representativeness of the different components of this community”, in addition to the Sovereign’s call to expedite the adoption of the new law relating to the Council, with a view to its installation as soon as possible, in accordance with article 163 of the Constitution.

The Council also welcomes the creation of “the Mohammedia Foundation for Moroccans living abroad”, which will become the operational arm of public policy in this area, and which will be responsible for aggregating the responsibilities currently dispersed between a multitude of actors, for coordinating the development and implementation of the National Strategy dedicated to Moroccans residing in the foreigner.

In addition, this new structure will ensure the management of “National mechanism for mobilizing the skills of Moroccans living abroad”, listed at the top of the missions assigned to the Foundation, with a view to paving the way for Moroccan skills and expertise established abroad and to support the leaders of initiatives and projects, thanks to the involvement of departments concerned ministerial and various actors, to give a strong impetus to the linguistic, cultural and religious support of members of the community, all generations combined, knowing that the cultural and religious fields top the public political priorities linked to Moroccans in the world.

As for the major challenges that this body will have to meet, such as the simplification and digitalization of administrative and judicial procedures for the Moroccan community established abroad, the CCME welcomes the King’s benevolence in opening new prospects for members of the Community who are keen to invest in their country.

Furthermore, the CCME reiterates its full readiness and mobilization to contribute to the optimal implementation of all the royal guidelines.
