Another goal for Ovechkin in his race for the record

The Canadian did not play last night.

On the other hand, three other matches were presented in the NHL.

Let’s see what happened:

1: Another goal for Ovi

It’s only a matter of time.

But Alex Ovechkin – barring a major surprise – will be able to beat Wayne Gretzky’s record for the most goals scored (894) in his career in the National League.

The Capitals captain took advantage of the visit from the poor Predators to already score his 8th goal of the season (in 12 games) and his 861st career goal:

With 861 successes on the clock, Ovi is only 33 goals away from equaling Gretzky’s record.

It’s coming…

Note that the Preds lost again last night. The Caps won by a score of 3-2 and continue their excellent start to the season.

Steven Stamkos scored in the loss, but Barry Trotz must not have been happy with his team’s result.

We know that he is already thinking about rebuilding…

2: The Golden Knights are too strong for the Oilers

We move to the middle of the third period, when the score was 2-1 in favor of the Oilers.

But that’s when Noah Hanifin stood up.

The great defender allowed his team to equalize with a great goal:

I say that Noah Hanifin stood up… Because he was also the one who played the hero at the end of the match.

The score was still tied (2-2) and Hanifin sent everyone home by scoring with 48 seconds left on the clock.

A devastating goal for the Oilers:

Mark Stone completed the score into an empty net to give the Golden Knights a 4-2 win.

In the Knights’ victory, we must also highlight the performance of Jack Eichel, who collected three points (including a goal).

3: Easy victory for the Wings in Chicago

This was Patrick Kane’s second game in Chicago since his departure.

And I guess he put money on the board because the Red Wings easily won (4-1) against the Blackhawks.

Connor Bedard was cleared from the scoresheet for a rare time and in the match, we especially remember this beautiful goal from Dylan Larkin:

When he uses his speed… He’s really hard to stop.

Note that for the Wings, this is a second consecutive victory. The team is 6-5-1 since the start of the season, which isn’t awful… But it’s not great either.

Ah, and for those who are wondering: no, Patrick Kane did not participate in his team’s victory.

He was cleared, like Bedard.
