Following the announcement of a draft social plan presented by AuchanTHE hypermarket staff representatives of La Glacerie (delegated municipality of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, Manche), were able to communicate with their management on the occasion of a social and economic council (CSE) this Wednesday November 6, 2024.
As a reminder, the distributor, owned by the Mulliez family, had announced the day before that it wanted to get rid of 2,389 jobs throughout the country.
“The details of misery”
CSE elected officials saw their fears confirmed: the fate of nine jobs is indeed at stake at the Glacier hypermarket.
These are the six sellers in the EEGP department, namely electronics and household appliances intended for the general public, to which are added three executives: the position of payroll planning and management manager and two sales managers.
“The details of the poverty were presented to us to justify this plan. If the social plan is refused, those concerned would be made redundant no later than September 2025.”
Another elected official mentions “a management which does not remain insensitive to this situation”. But she regrets announcements “which fall just before the end of year holidays”. And describes, of course, employees “who are not well at all”.
Measures called for negotiation
Everything has only just begun, however, since negotiations are due to begin in mid-November at national level to define the contours of the support arrangements for the employees concerned, retraining, reclassification leave, voluntary departure plans and other early departures. retired.
