Casablanca’s Mohammed V airport is undergoing a transformation to offer an optimized experience to its passengers and meet the logistical challenges of the next decade.

To respond to the constant increase in air traffic and maintain high security standards, ONDA has invested in modernizing the baggage processing chain. The transit area, with an area of ​​3,000 m², is now equipped with two automated conveyor lines incorporating explosive detection systems (EDS), capable of processing up to 1,500 transit bags per hour. This system directs secure baggage to loading carousels, while baggage requiring verification is redirected to X-ray scanners. This innovation ensures better baggage flow, reducing waiting times and improving passenger security. operations.

The arrival baggage claim area has also been redesigned to meet the needs of passengers. Seven of the ten conveyor belts have been replaced by the latest generation equipment, offering improved processing capacity and significantly reducing waiting times. A complete renovation project for this room is also planned to provide a more comfortable and functional space, in order to guarantee travelers a more pleasant arrival.

Beyond infrastructure, this transformation echoes ONDA’s ambition to place fluidity, speed and passenger satisfaction at the heart of its strategy. These efforts are part of a global modernization plan, targeting not only Mohammed V airport but also other airports in the Kingdom. “These initiatives are part of its strategy to modernize its infrastructure, to support the continued growth of traffic air, and to consolidate the position of Mohammed V airport as an international hub, meeting the requirements of passengers and the 2030 objectives”, underlines ONDA which at the same time appointed a new director at the head of the airport. ‘airport.
