The Moroccan Authority for Human Rights and the Environment in the Casablanca-Settat region, in partnership with the Casablanca Bar Association and the Moulay Ali Cherif Association of Culture, Heritage and Development, chose to celebrate the 49th? anniversary of the Green March by organizing a caravan entitled “Advocacy organizations for the Moroccan Sahara issue from Casablanca to the Guerguerat border post”, from November 7 to 14 this year.

Fouad Gharsa, president of the Moroccan Authority for Human Rights and the Environment in Casablanca-Settat, affirmed that the national caravan is organized on the occasion of the anniversary of the Green March, which marked the the history of Morocco through its approach of peaceful struggle for decolonization and the completion of the territorial unity of the nation. A country whose people have always worked to defend its integrity and unity, this event remains engraved in the memory of the Moroccan people in general, and of those who participated in it in particular.

He added that this initiative takes place under the slogan “Our unity in our epic”, and aims to strengthen national commitment to issues related to the Moroccan Sahara, stressing the importance of associating them with the principles of human rights. man and sustainable development. He said: “This caravan is based on the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who highlights the role of civil society organizations in defending the national cause.

Civil advocacy in favor of the Moroccanness of the Sahara is a vital project which aims to strengthen the capacities of civil society associations and associative actors.

Gharsa also declared, in an interview with “Al-Sahra Al-Maghribiya”, that this initiative seeks to send a strong message to the enemies of the Kingdom, and indicates that any attack on the security and unity of Morocco is unacceptable. .

He noted that this caravan aims to mobilize all components of the participating organizations to confront the maneuvers of adversaries of territorial integrity, to preserve the unity of the country and to defend its security and stability, while reaffirming the alignment total with His Majesty King Mohammed VI in the national mobilization.

The president of the Moroccan Authority for Human Rights and the Environment in Casablanca-Settat called on all parallel organizations and structures, associations, federations and other bodies, to join this caravan with the aim of forming a united front to express our attachment to the Moroccan nature of our Sahara. He specified that the caravan will also count on the participation of the Moroccan Association of Bikers in Morocco (THR FINDERS-THE EAGLES).

According to the organizing committee, the caravan will bring together several Moroccan and foreign activists in the fields of culture and sustainable development, as well as representatives of civil society, who see in this initiative an opportunity to strengthen national identity and revive memory of the Green March as a symbol of the union between the Moroccan people and the Sahara.
