NEW – The Japanese manufacturer enters the electric market with a 4.27 m SUV.

Its name may well take that of an SUV which celebrated its 35th anniversary last year, but the e-Vitara presented in Milan no longer has much to do with its big brother. The shapes mark a clear evolution of style with more elaborate curves. This new model inaugurates Suzuki’s electric range. It is largely inspired by the eVX concept unveiled at Auto Expo in India in January 2023. It is also in India, in the Suzuki Motor Gujarat factory that it will be produced from next spring for marketing in Europe from summer 2025. The e-Vitara will find on its way a new generation of electric SUVs measuring less than 4.30 m, but production in India will undoubtedly allow it to stand out in terms of price.

Above all, the Japanese manufacturer’s electric debut is based on a new platform dedicated to battery vehicles and called “Heartect-e”. Around a length of 4.27 meters, 100 mm more than the Vitara with a thermal engine, and a wheelbase of 2.70 m, the e-Vitara will be available in two battery versions (49 and 61 kWh) , three power levels (148, 174 and 184 hp) and two transmissions, 2 or 4 wheel drive. In the latter case, the e-Vitara displays a torque of 300 Nm, instead of 189 Nm for the traction versions. The manufacturer is aiming for a range of at least 400 km with the large 61 kWh battery.

The dashboard is distinguished by a large horizontal slab.

The interior atmosphere appears more opulent than on the current Vitara with a modern dashboard which adopts a large horizontal panel integrating the instrumentation screen and the one dedicated to infotainment.
