It has been more than a year since the right emerged from the polls strengthened in the Geneva Grand Council. Since then, its parliamentarians have been at the origin of several tours de force in plenary, especially at the expense of the left. But last Friday, the attack targeted Geneva Public Transport (TPG).

The majority made up of the UDC, the PLR, the Center and the MCG refused to vote on the TPG service contract. The latter provided for an investment of 1.9 billion francs by the State until 2029, to expand the offer and electrify the fleet. This sum represents the financial counterpart of the action plan on public transport accepted in March by the same parliament. The amendment voted by the majority validates a first tranche of 325 million francs for the year 2025, but does not comment on the rest of the budget.
