Three months after his highly publicized departure from 98.5 FM, financial columnist Pierre-Yves McSween joins ICI Première.

Starting December 2, he will provide a financial column from Monday to Thursday, at 7:20 a.m., on Patrick Masbourian’s morning show. You can also hear him every Monday on Annie Desrochers’ return show, in Montreal, and on Guillaume Dumas’ show, in Quebec. He will also host two special shows during the holiday season.
Until last July, Pierre-Yves McSween was one of the headliners at 98.5 FM. The author of the bestselling books The Love Fracture et Do you really need it? was one of Paul Arcand’s collaborators for nine years. It was announced last spring that Pierre-Yves McSween would not return to the morning slot, but would instead be one of the co-hosts of Philippe Cantin’s return show. However, there was a twist this summer: 98.5 FM cut ties with the star columnist, a few weeks before the start of the radio season.
The departure of Pierre-Yves McSween followed that of MC Gilles, another long-time 98.5 FM columnist fired by the station in April. In the media, MC Gilles subsequently let it be known that Pierre-Yves McSween, like him, had difficult relations with Patrick Lagacé, the station’s new morning man. Pierre-Yves McSween, for his part, refrained from speaking publicly about the circumstances of his departure.
