A devastating shock at dusk
The accident occurred around 5:35 p.m., plunging residents of streets 11, 13 and 15 x Corniche into fear. Serigne Abdou Guèye, aged 23 and from Diourbel, and his friend Mor Fall, aged 21, lost control of their vehicle when approaching a bend. The impact with the concrete median separating the two roads was so violent that the two young men fell heavily onto the asphalt.
Lives shattered in an instant
The police, alerted by the deafening noise of the impact, quickly went to the scene. Unfortunately, despite the intervention of firefighters, Serigne A. Guèye and Mor Fall were declared dead on the spot. Both, sellers of spare parts, saw their futures extinguished in a fraction of a second.
The dead bodies of the victims were transported to the morgue of the Idrissa Pouye General Hospital in Grand-Yoff for an autopsy. This accident once again raises questions about road safety on the Corniche Ouest, often the scene of tragic accidents.
This tragic news reminds us of the need for increased vigilance on our roads and compliance with traffic rules. The community is in mourning, while the shadow of this tragedy hangs over the Corniche, inviting reflection on driving behavior and the preservation of human lives.
