The LHC wins in front of its audience against the SC Rappersswil-Jona Lakers (6-3). The post-match is presented to you by our main partner, Vaudoise Assurances.
A fright at the start of the match before domination
Lausanne fans gathered in large numbers this evening at the Vaudoise arena. However, after less than two minutes of play, it was astonishment that invaded the Lausanne den after the opening score of Painted Strömwall. Geoff Ward’s men are now seasoned and know how to control their emotions. By respecting the game plan, our Lions initially managed to equalize throughAhti Oksanen then secondly to take the advantage thanks to another Finn, Janne Kuokkanen.
After the break, the LHC did not lower the intensity on the ice by scoring two new goals in the space of five minutes thanks to Michael Hügli et Ken Jaeger. The achievements of the two second-row players brought the score to 4-1 after 35 minutes of play to the immense pleasure of the 9,240 spectators in the evening.
In total control, the Lions will be very little worried by what was their pet peeve for many seasons. Indeed, the Lakers will certainly score two additional goals which could have put them back on track, but that was without taking into account the seriousness of our players who will ensure their victory by scoring two additional goals per Damien Riat et Michael Hügli who scored his first double at the Vaudoise arena just after celebrating his 300 matches in the National League.
The standings before the international break
By winning this evening against the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, the LHC bounced back perfectly after the slap received in Bern. Well placed in the lead, our Lions confirm their second place in the general classification with 37 points scored in 19 days. With 9 points ahead of seventh place occupied by EHC Kloten and 17 points more than eleventh place occupied by HC Fribourg-Gottéron, Geoff Ward’s men have already achieved a very good start of the championship.
A performance to repeat after the break, taking advantage of a few days without competition to give the organisms that have been put to the test since mid-September a good rest.
