Rabat – The first edition of the “Hackathon Al-Quds 2024” dedicated to startups working in the field of digital health, was launched on Friday in Rabat, as part of the digital strategy of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency 2024 -2027.

This event, initiated by the Agency in partnership with several Moroccan institutional actors, aims to bring together the greatest number of innovative ideas capable of contributing to developing and improving the performance of the health system in Al-Quds, in particular in emergency situations.

The launching ceremony of this hackathon was notably marked by the signing of a partnership agreement between the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency and the company “JInnovate Al-Quds”, aiming to set the terms of partnership for the support of the Agency in the organization of the hackathon, dedicated to supporting and supporting startups in the field of digital health.

In a speech for the occasion, the director responsible for managing the Agency, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, indicated that this hackathon is part of the renewed and ongoing dynamic of the Agency’s concrete social action in Al-Quds. , under the direct supervision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, noting that “this initiative demonstrates the Agency’s respect for its commitments to our Palestinian brothers in order to help them equip themselves with the means to to live with pride and dignity on their land, armed with the hope of a better future for future generations.

“Today we are welcoming three startups specializing in the field of digital health benefiting from the intensive entrepreneurship support program, aimed in particular at helping these young entrepreneurs to acquire confidence and consistency, as well as to optimize the mechanisms of advocacy around projects,” underlined Mr. Cherkaoui, adding that these young people will also benefit from opportunities to integrate financing and investment markets through their participation in international fairs.

He noted, in the same vein, that the value of the prizes of this first edition amounts to 60,000 dollars, which will arouse the interest of young people from Morocco, Palestine and other countries to work together to develop innovative digital solutions and practical ideas that can have a tangible and lasting impact on the healthcare sector.

The Palestinian Ambassador to Morocco, Jamal Choubaki, for his part, underlined that “this hackathon constitutes an important opportunity for young innovative Palestinians who carry ideas for ambitious projects, despite the difficult circumstances in which they live” , indicating that these projects deserve to be encouraged and supported so that they materialize on the ground.

He took this opportunity to express his thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, for His support for the Palestinian cause, welcoming the humanitarian initiatives of the Sovereign with regard to the Palestinian population.

For his part, the director of technology within the company “JInnovate Al-Quds”, Jaâfar Mahfoud, indicated, in a statement to the press, that the partnership agreement signed with the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency Acharif essentially aims to launch the “Al-Quds hackathon” for startups working in the field of digital health, in order to ensure the incubation of projects and ideas from young people and develop them via the Agency and the Moroccan government parties concerned.

The launching ceremony of the first edition of the “Al-Quds 2024 hackathon” took place in the presence, in particular, of representatives of several ministries, diplomatic chancelleries and institutions.
