During Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron's visit to Morocco, Princess Lalla Khadija made her debut on the public stage

The official visit ofEmmanuel Macron au Morocco ended on Wednesday. Three days of diplomatic meetings, agreements and friendships to reaffirm, as is always the case on such occasions. But this time, it's not just the first lady's looks Brigitte Macron (always alongside her husband) who makes the headlines, but also the unusual presence of the princess Lalla Khadija alongside his father, the king Mohammed VI.

Aged 17Lalla Khadija had until now been seen very little in public. THE last official photos of the young girl date back to 2019when she welcomed with her family the Spanish sovereigns visiting Morocco. Other photos, however, show her on her fourth birthday, in the company of her father and mother Lalla Salma Bennanithe ex-wife of Mohammed VI who has long since disappeared from public life, to the point of fueling countless rumors and speculation over the years.

We also don't know much about Lalla Khadija, even if the role she plays during the Macron's official visit suggests an increasingly active presence on the Moroccan public scene: a sort of first lady, being given that there is no queen to fill this role.

Until Prince Moulay Hassan ascends the throne and gets married, this leaves his sister the opportunity to emerge and represent her country, often accompanied by the princess Lalla Meryemhis father's sister, emblematic figure of the Court and very active in the cultural and social fields. A role which could in the future fall to his niece.

Lalla Khadija has been attending the Royal College of Rabat since 2011, is passionate about swimming and horse riding and plays the guitar. A polyglot, she speaks English, Spanish and French fluently in addition to Arabic.
