While many are waiting for the announcement of Nintendo’s next console, the company with the mustachioed plumber continues to unveil other projects. After Alarmo, here is Nintendo Music.
Nintendo’s interactive alarm clock is no longer the only recent solution for enjoying music from certain flagship games from the Japanese company outside of its console. Now on iOS and Android you can download the Nintendo Music app. Songs from Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Pikmin, Splatoon, Animal Crossing and even Mario can now rock your ears. Other music will also be added over time. A notification system has been set up to alert you of their availability.
Tracks one by one or complete soundtrack, the choice is left to the user who can also create their own lists. It is of course possible to explore the catalog or search for specific music based on a specific name or theme. The songs can be listened to in streaming but also offline after downloading. Little more, an activateable option is included to block titles which reveal a specific moment of a game which has not yet been discovered.
However, to use it, there is a small condition. You must be a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber. This is Nintendo’s subscription service which allows you to play online. The advantage is that thanks to this prerequisite, the application can suggest music to listen to based on the games being played.
