Casablanca – Morocco’s airports recorded a new record of 24,274,324 passengers welcomed at the end of September 2024, up 19.66% compared to the same period a year earlier, according to the National Airports Office (ONDA).

This growth concerns the majority of airports, including Rabat-Salé (+42.77%), Agadir (+36.5%), Dakhla (35.94%), Marrakech (+33.88%), Tetouan (+31). .09%) and Tangier (+21.91%), indicates the Office.

According to the same source, domestic traffic reached 2,552,687 passengers welcomed at the end of September this year, an improvement of 28.82% compared to the same period of 2023.

International air traffic, for its part, recorded an increase of 18.67% compared to the end of September 2023, or 21,721,637 passengers welcomed. This development is attributed to the good performance of the markets of Europe (+19.86%), Africa (+17.68%) and the Middle and Far East (+11.99%).

ONDA also reports 179,863 aircraft movements at the end of last September, an increase of 15.44% compared to the same period a year earlier.

Regarding air freight, it recorded an increase of 21.50% to more than 67,833 tonnes at the end of September 2024.
