“Macron on state visit to Rabat to seal Franco-Moroccan reconciliation”, headlines the economic newspaper The Echoes at the bottom of its front page with a reference to the entire article on page 9. Any revelations? None, but the publication gives voice to Hamza Meddebwhich she presents as a researcher at the Carnegie Middle East Center and a specialist in North Africa.

“For , this will be the opportunity to seal this new “pink” phase of the bilateral relationship by signing agreements while Morocco has embarked on colossal projects and the French economy is struggling,” says Hamza Meddeb.

“Macron in Morocco, three days to reconnect”, headline Liberation also on the front page, but with this more telling title for a central two-page file: “Emmanuel Macron at Mohammed VI: the return to grace”.

Any revelations? Not much either and Liberation repeats the assertions of his colleague The Tribune which mentions contracts in the aviation and defense sector: possible cooperation between Royal Air Morocco with Airbus and possible helicopter purchases Caracal by the FAR.

“The journey of reconciliation to Morocco”, says The Parisian. “Sale of military equipment for Naval Group, Airbus Helicopters (12 to 18 Caracal for some 400 million euros), extension of the Kenitra-Marrakech high-speed rail line and, above all, major energy infrastructure projects in Western Sahara of interest to the Engie group,” adds the daily.

“Emmanuel Macron in Morocco: time for reconciliation”, headline Le Figaro which publishes an article signed by its Moroccan correspondent, Omar Kabbadj. “While Morocco is preparing to distribute several contracts representing billions of euros for the extension of the Kenitra-Marrakech high-speed railway line, the National Railway Office of Morocco (ONCF) wants to acquire 18 trainsets train for 421.4 million euros. Alstom is seeking to position itself… But will face competition from the Chinese CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive, the South Korean Hyundai Rotem and the two Spanish companies CAF and Talgo,” the French newspaper believes.

Note that The Worldanother leading newspaper in France, does not devote a single line to this visit in its Sunday-Monday edition. The publication focuses on rather interior subjects such as health.
