Like every week via Famitsu, here are the top sales of the week (May 20 to 26, 2024) on Japanese soil (physical sales only).
Good performance for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year DoorPaper Mario: The Millennium Door) which beat the launch of Paper Mario: The Origami King of 6,557 copies, which had sold 109,092 copies at its launch in July 2020. This is a considerable performance for the GameCube remake, given the growing popularity of digital sales over the recent years (Japanese rankings only take into account box sales). On the Nintendo Gamecube, the base game made 137,750, so we can consider that this Nintendo Switch version is ahead with eShop sales.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 gets a little start, and doesn’t do better than the first spin-off. The release in Europe (next September) should do it a little good.
