The personalities of six new defendants are presented this week. Gisèle Pelicot, absent this Monday, must speak in the middle of the week.

The profiles of six new defendants, suspected of having sexually assaulted Gisèle Pelicot, previously drugged by her husband, have been dissected since Monday before the criminal court where the Mazan rape trial is halfway through.

The main victim was absent this Monday. However, she must speak in the middle of the week to give her impressions on this emblematic trial of chemical submission which began on September 2 and is scheduled to last until December 20.

Among the accused are Abdelali D., alias “Mehdi”, 48 years old. He came twice to the Pelicot home in Mazan (Vaucluse) in January and then March 2018, taken, at least once, by his partner at the time who had waited for him in the car.

He was arrested after being recognized by the partner of another accused questioned by the police on this case. Abdelali D. had initially denied, despite the presentation of photos of him taken from the videos filmed in the Pelicot’s bedroom, believing that it was a “sauce“. On the first day of the hearing, however, he admitted the accusations. After the events, he suffered a stroke which left him partially hemiplegic.

Other defendants presented this week include Patrice N.a 55-year-old electrician who during his interrogation had described Dominique Pelicot as “sick” but did not see fit to notify the police so as not to “not lose” a day at the police station; Florian R.a 32-year-old delivery driver claiming to have had “fear” de Pelicot ; Gregory S.31 years old, already convicted for possession of drugs, receiving stolen goods and violence in meetings; Quentin H.34 years old, ex-police officer turned prison guard who admitted the facts.

Jean-Luc L.alias “jeanlucasiat”, a 46-year-old worker, the only one of these accused to appear detained, came twice in 2018 then 2019. He admitted the facts and said he “sincerely sorry for madam” at the opening of the trial.

These defendants should speak during the week about their personality and then about the facts, by being confronted with Dominique Pelicot.

For ten years, from July 2011 to October 2020, the septuagenarian had drugged his wife with anxiolytics and then raped her and had her raped by dozens of men he invited on the Internet.

Alongside him, 50 men, aged 26 to 74, are on trial in , mostly for aggravated rape, for which they face 20 years of criminal imprisonment. Eighteen of these accused, including Dominique Pelicot, appear detained. Thirty-two appear free. A last one is on the run.
