“If we release our kids now because of the heat, what will it be like in June?” Thursday, late in the morning, this father is angry. He has just received an email from the management of the Drize Orientation Cycle, where his daughter attends school. The missive informs parents that all students at the school will be released from classes at 11:55 a.m.

The reason? Lightning, which struck the building on Monday evening, blocked “the control which manages the opening of the sashes and blinds”. For three days, it has therefore no longer been possible to open the windows or lower the blinds in the school.

24 degrees at 10 a.m.

The inability to ventilate coupled with “strong heat” – the text indicates a temperature of 24 degrees at 10 a.m. in the building – pushed the management to release the students for the afternoon in order to avoid “any risk of discomfort.

“Already, I can’t believe that the heat is unbearable today,” this student’s father still gets annoyed. But what’s more, they warn us less than an hour before the end of classes! Children whose parents work will therefore be released into the wild! They could have at least maintained a minimum service.”

The missive further specifies that classes will resume normally tomorrow morning but that those of Friday afternoon could also be lifted. Management claims to be doing everything possible to resolve this technical problem on Thursday afternoon.
