IT professionals announced from Casablanca the creation of the Moroccan Alliance for Responsible Digital (AMNR), a group aspiring to promote eco-responsible digital technology.

According to a press release from the AMNR, the constitutive assembly of the group, held on Thursday, saw the election of members of the office made up of professionals in the IT field, “all keen to raise awareness among players in the sector about eco-responsible practices IT, Green IT and responsible digital technology.

As such, Ms. Sabah Lahlou was elected president of this new alliance, and Mehdi Kortali, secretary general, indicates the AMNR.

This alliance, specifies the same source, aims to bring together Green IT players in Morocco, raise Moroccan companies’ awareness of eco-responsible IT practices and contribute to the public debate at national and international level on sustainable digital technology.

The AMNR indicates that it “will be able to define a barometer to measure the maturity of Moroccan companies in adopting Green IT and also define indicators of improvement in raising awareness of the environmental impacts of digital technology”.

The Alliance recalls that Morocco adopts a proactive and responsible approach which is Green IT or responsible digital, digital which gives priority to people and the planet, respecting in particular the principles of the sustainable web manifesto: clean, efficient , open, honest, regenerative and resilient”.
