At the Grand Palais and in the Marais, the Art Basel Shop is coming

Top start of the Basel fairwhich takes over the Grand Palais from October 16 to 20 with 195 galleries from all over the world – the highlight of the contemporary art week and its procession of Parisian events. Among what’s newnote a name change (exit the pompous “Paris+ by Art Basel”), a new “Premise” sector, the “Oh La La! » and the arrival of a Art Basel Shopopen throughout the duration of the fair.

Initiated last June during the previous edition of Art Basel in its stronghold of Basel, this concept store propose new items and special editions at the frontiers of art, design and fashion – all finely selected by Sarah Andelmanformer head of the iconic (and late) Colette and founder of the publishing house Just an Idea.

Limited edition collections

It has been more than half a century since the famous Swiss fair sets the tone for the international art market, from Basel to Miami via Hong Kong and now Paris. To celebrate this history, the Art Basel Shop presents a limited edition capsule collection « AB by Art Basel »whose design is inspired by the catalog of the 1975 edition of Art Basel. The portrait of Dalida by Nina Childresswhich adorns the posters of the fair this year, is also available on a series of clothing and accessories. THE concept store also invited the Parisian collective Claire to imagine a collection (also in limited edition) echoing his series of works “Stranieri Ovunque – Étrangers Everywhere” (which gave its name to the 60e Venice Biennale).

Other celebrations that can be added: a special edition of the “Purple Carnation”the emblematic fragrance of the Guerlain house whose setting was revisited for the occasion by the artist Julie Beaufils, but also the new collaboration between Uniqlo and the Louvre museum signed Camille Henrota line of clothing and accessories designed by Martine Syms for her exhibition at Lafayette Anticipations… Without forgetting a wide selection of artist monographs and the cream of independent magazines. Everything can be found of course at the Grand Palais, but also in a pop-up nestled in the heart of the Dover Street Market in the Marais.
