29th murder in Montreal: a man shot dead at Guy-Concordia station

A thirty-year-old was shot dead during the night from Saturday to Sunday in the Ville-Marie district of Montreal.

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) had to intervene around 11:30 p.m. on the metro platform of Guy-Concordia station which is on the green line in the direction of Honoré-Beaugrand, confirms spokesperson Jean- Pierre Brabant.

An altercation between two men took place and a 37-year-old man was attacked with a sharp object. He suffered upper body injuries.

His death was pronounced in hospital.

This is the 29th murder to occur in the metropolis.

The Guy-Concordia station was reopened for users around 7:30 a.m.

Green Line subways can now make stops

Major crimes officers from the SPVM were called to the scene to analyze the scene in order to understand the circumstances of the event.

No arrests have yet been made, however the investigation continues at the SPVM.
