This is undoubtedly a realistic snapshot of the current state of multilateralism. The Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) responsible for developing a draft treaty (framework convention) on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response just completed its ninth cycle on Friday. Objective: develop a partly binding legal instrument aimed at better anticipating the emergence and consequences of a new major epidemic.
Created in December 2021, the INB embodies all the hopes harbored by global health specialists to provide the planet with mechanisms that make it possible to avoid a health and therefore economic and social catastrophe such as we experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic.
