The LPHF disciplinary committee announced the news Thursday afternoon, less than three hours before the start of the meeting at Place Bell.

Lefort was punished for a hit against Jamie Lee Rattray early in the first period of the game between Montreal and Boston on May 4. Rattray seemed to be stunned by the contact made as she had just turned around.

Lefort was not punished during the sequence.

For her part, Montreal forward Mélodie Daoust was fined $250 for grabbing a rival’s facial protector during a skirmish in the same match against Boston.

Furthermore, Daoust signed a contract valid for a playoff round, regardless of the duration of this three-of-five series. Thus, if Montreal qualifies for the grand final, Daoust will not be eligible.

Daoust is in the Montreal squad against Boston. She was moved to the right wing within a trio completed by Mikyla Grant-Mentis, on the left flank, and Maureen Murphy.

Daoust collected three goals and two assists in six games during his two 10-day contracts during the regular season.
