A man died on the evening of Monday May 6 in Eysines, in the Bordeaux metropolis. He died from a gunshot fired by the occupant of a car. An investigation into intentional homicide was opened and one person was taken into custody.

The events occurred on the evening of Monday May 6, shortly before 8 p.m. Residents heard several gunshots. According to our information, the occupants of two cars met to settle scores near the Vigean room, in Eysines.

During the exchange of gunfire, a man, born in 1997 in Bordeaux, who was shot and died in his car. According to the Bordeaux public prosecutor’s office, an investigation into intentional homicide was entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS). The first medical findings made on site by the medical examiner concluded that there was a death from a firearm in the left pectoral area, specifies the prosecutor. Police custody is in progress and investigations are continuing.”

The mayor of Eysines, Christine Bost, also president of Bordeaux Métropole, was present on the scene. “We are all in shock”she confides. The elected official hopes that the numerous video surveillance cameras set up by the municipality will make it possible to identify the perpetrators as quickly as possible.

A witness, also on site at the time of the events, speaks “an altercation between several individuals” during the first shots of type “Bare-knuckle brawl”. “The protagonists then escaped and one of them was found at the wheel, deceased from a gunshot wound to the chest,” he continues.

“It seems a long time when you watch the scene, but in fact everything happened very quickly, it was a matter of a few minutes,” says the witness, living in the town of Eysines.

This is an event that we have never experienced in our territory.”, continues the mayor of the town of 23,000 inhabitants, north of the Bordeaux metropolis. A quiet town, even if the neighborhood where the events took place, “concentration of difficulties”. “It is undoubtedly less peaceful than others, however, public services are located there, there is also a police presence there.”

It is not at all a neighborhood that is disinvested.
