Downtown Studio offers premises to startups operating in Web3, gaming and AI

The Downtown Studio space in Geneva is launching a call for residences. This new collaborative center of expertise, unique in French-speaking Switzerland, serving players in the audiovisual and cinematographic industries, and digital creation, was imagined by Olivier Pictet (see Cominmag article) to become an ecosystem based on the pooling of tools of sound and image post-production facilitating access to the most efficient technologies on the market.

The mission of this space is to bring together creative and technical talents to shape a solid culture of digital creation and encourage the emergence of talents through a residency program. Explore Creativity around the theme Creative Futures open to young professionals evolving in one of these areas of kid’s activity, extended realities, Web3 and AI.

Call for Residence: what is it?
The Residence is open to startups and – or collectives – 1 to 3 members – and – or entrepreneurs with less than 3 years of existence, Swiss and international.

Particular attention is paid to projects exploring the interactions between new forms of storytelling and new technologies, two notions which are more intertwined than ever at a time when content consumption is in the midst of a revolution. This involves encouraging research, innovation and avant-garde projects, and the excellence of the next generation in digital creation.

Applicants must demonstrate an explicit interest in the theme of the residency program: the notions of creativity and technology and their interaction with each other. They must clearly indicate how their project would benefit from the Downtown Studio framework for its development (technical resources, networks, expertise, etc.) and what educational and expertise-sharing events related to their project they plan to organize during their residence.

The objective of this Residence is to support during 12 months four start-ups in order to encourage creative transition and promote the emergence of future talents. It is a unique opportunity to create new synergies between the different creative industries in order to support innovation.

What is proposed:

  • free provision of an office within the Exploration Lab @Downtown Studio, 10 rue des Vieux Grenadiers, 1205 Geneva
  • a free domiciliation
