It was without fanfare that DJI officially presented its new entry-level drone, the DJI Mini 4K, this Tuesday. A drone that completes the Chinese manufacturer’s range by offering a more accessible price than the DJI Mini 3 and DJI Mini 3 Pro.

In fact, the new DJI Mini 4K seems to take the chassis from the previous DJI Mini 2 SE released last year. It thus displays a light and compact format with a weight of 249 grams which places it in the C0 class allowing it to be flown even without a patent or AlphaTango registration.

As its name suggests, the DJI Mini 4K, however, has a better definition camera than the Mini 2 SE, which was limited to 2.7K shots at 30 frames per second. For its part, the Chinese manufacturer’s new drone offers videos in 4K at 30 frames per second, or in 2.7K at 60 frames per second. However, it has an identical sensor, in 1/2.3 inch format. The gimbal also allows three-axis stabilization to avoid blurry images as much as possible.

Wind resistance and obstacle detection

In terms of autonomy, you will need to count on 31 minutes of flight time. The Mini 4K also allows resistance to wind gusts of up to 38 km/h and integrates a downward obstacle detection system.

Finally, in terms of signal range, the drone will allow HD video transmission up to 10 km. However, remember that, to comply with regulations, drones must be visible to the pilot during their flight.

The DJI Mini 4K drone is available at the price of 299 euros exclusively on Amazon with a DJI RC-N1C radio controller and a battery. The Fly More Combo kit, priced at 439 euros, adds two additional batteries, a shoulder bag and a charging station.
