Servette and the conquest of the most epic title

The Swiss Cup remains in the hands of Servette and its captain, Monica Mendes.

The Servette players won the Swiss Cup final last Saturday in Zurich against Young Boys. Their second title in a row! Limited to 18 players, they symbolically included their absent teammates by displaying all the jerseys in the locker room. Despite starting the match in the hail and in front of an audience mainly supportive of the Bernese opponent, the Genevans won 3-2. An epic victory which marks a new page in history for the club.

Djourou installs a traveling soccer field in Geneva

Until June 19, the Mondialito project, designed by former Swiss international Johan Djourou, will enliven Geneva with a traveling football field which will be set up in different districts of the city. By offering young people the opportunity to play five-on-five matches, this initiative aims to encourage physical activity and social interactions. The city is thus transformed into an open sporting space, bringing together different generations while waiting for the Euro.

The winner is a winner! Among the approximately 1,035 innovations presented during the 49e Exhibition of inventions, at Palexpo, the jurors agreed to reward that of Sumaiya Al Siyabi, an Omani scientist. Its creation, called Écosphere, is a process that purifies water from microplastics in a few hours. Combining biology and nanotechnology, Sumaiya Al Siyabi’s invention presents itself as a promising ecological and economical solution.
