The Dance Festival extends this year throughout the Morgian territory. It takes over new places such as the Quartier des Halles and the Parc de Vertou skatepark. This third edition is also an opportunity to inaugurate a partnership with the Morges Fleur du Léman Association, as part of the Tulip Festival. The floral show having adopted the theme of world cultures this year, it will be the scene of a Bulgarian dance performance, but also of a show on the Kanak culture of New Caledonia.

Among the new places, it is also worth mentioning the Alexis Forel Museum. In parallel with its exhibition “Le Bal”, the museum will host a reading-show on the dancer Isadora Duncan, proposed by the company La Renaissance, co-winner of the 2023 artistic encouragement prize from the City of Morges. At the Parc de Vertou skatepark, we will see the premiere of the Swiss creation “Roller Coaster”, also offered to schools and extracurricular structures with mediation.

Vertou in the dance

The 2024 edition of the Fête de la Danse lets you see, hear, move and even read. There are notably ten professional shows, but also demonstrations from Morgian dance schools. Two evenings with Latin accents will punctuate the weekend: tango on Friday and Cuban salsa on Saturday. The Odéon cinema offers two films and a selection of short films, while the Municipal Library presents a selection of books related to dance.

Vertou, twin town of Morges, is also included in the program, thanks to two shows. “Dédale” will be presented on April 30 as a pre-opening of the Fête de la Danse by the Vertavian company Bissextile, while the Elidé company will perform “La Lettre” on Saturday May 4 at the market, a creation produced in Vertou.

The Dance Festival, carried out with Réseau Danse Suisse (RESO), allows you to experience dance live and in all its diversity in many cities in Switzerland. The City of Morges is proud to contribute to this and is delighted with the entertainment provided by the event. All these shows, many of which are outdoors, are open to all audiences and are intended to be accessible.

The complete program can be found on fetedeladanse.ch/morges.
