“Ici”, the common brand of the two public service networks France Télévisions and France Bleu, continues to take shape. A new major milestone will be reached on January 6, 2025 at 5 a.m.
The date of the name change is now known, the 44 local France Bleu radio stations will become “Ici” on January 6, said the director of the France Bleu network, Céline Pigalle, in an internal email. Since the beginning of the month, a message has been broadcast on the air “Soon your radio station is changing its name”, which will become “Ici” at the beginning of 2025.
The idea is to create a global local media, since the regional programs of France 3 also adopt this new name already used elsewhere in the mornings of France Bleu with “ICI Matin” since 2019. The internet platform “Ici” launched in 2022, bringing together information from radio and television channels, also symbolizes this new common identity.
“From January 6 at 5 a.m., France Bleu changes its name and becomes “ici”. This change marks the culmination of an ambitious transformation launched in 2022, aimed at strengthening your radio station's commitment to the proximity and accessibility of information in the region. “here” is the symbol for Radio France and France Télévisions of the creation of a common brand for the two public service networks. “here” is the promise of 360 media: available on radio, television and on the web”France Bleu reported on November 27.
Regarding network radio stations, only the “France Bleu” part of the name of each station will be replaced by “here”. “The names do not change except for France Bleu Paris which here becomes Paris Ile-de-France”. France Bleu Lorraine will, for example, become Ici Lorraine, France Bleu Gironde will give way to Ici Gironde, and so on.
